In Matthew 15 Jesus is trying to get the point across that its not the outside of the person that he’s interested in, its the inside.
Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. 11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.” He openly spoke out against the people in charge and called them hypocrites (again). He was becoming more bold, and that is why they really started to hate him. He was cracking on their traditions. He was dissing their “religion” aspects and saying, “It’s between you and God!”
I’ve never understood when it appears Jesus had a bad day with a woman. He almost ignores her until her faith saves her. He even says, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” That’s kind of brutal. When I look in previous scriptures of this chapter I see where Peter asked Christ to explain some parables. With this in mind, I don’t feel so bad that I don’t full understand the attitude on display.
